According to a transcription of William Robert Deverell’s headstone in Dunamaise churchyard, he was the son of William & Mary. However, a fuller transcription (by the same contributor) can be interpreted as him being the son of Robert and Charlotte, and grandson of William and Mary, the names on the headstone being in generational order.
An account by William Robert’s son, Dawson Deverell, written down by Dawson’s grandson, states that his father died when he was a baby and his mother when he was 9. It also states that he had two older sisters.
William is enumerated in the 1911 census at Raheen, Ballycarroll. William and Rebecca Maud were living at Raheen, Heath, Maryborough in 1940 and in 1947.4,5,6,7,8
