George Charles KEEGAN was born on 8 April 1872 in Wexford, Ireland.1 He married Maria MEREDITH, daughter of Thomas MEREDITH and Rebecca STRONG, on 5 November 1896 in St John's Church, Coolbanagher, Co. Laois; Witnesses - John H. Patterson and Annie Meredith.2 He died on 3 November 1954 in Newtown, Naas, at age 82.3 He was buried in Holy Trinity Church, Rock of Dunamaise, Co. Laois.4
George Charles Keegan was a Schoolmaster. He was living at Coolbanagher, Co. Laois at the time of his marriage. He was recorded in the 1901 census at Morett, Emo, Queen’s Co., and described as a National School Teacher. In 1911 he and his wife moved to Tullow, Co. Carlow to take up teaching posts in a school there.2
