     William CRAMPTON was born circa 1853 in Co. Wicklow.¹ He married Elizabeth Anna MEREDITH, daughter of Thomas MEREDITH and Rebecca STRONG, on 17 February 1886 in Coolbanagher Parish Church, Queen’s County; witnesses Margaret Meredith and Joseph Grey.²
     
William Crampton was the son of Henry Crampton, a farmer. He was recorded in the 1901 census at Kennyswell Street, Kilkenny, and was described as a Butler. He was enumerated in the 1911 census as a Hotel Keeper of Dublin Street, Carlow City, aged 58, widower. He was living at Drimcoe, Mount Charles, Co. Donegal at the time of his daughter Hannah’s marriage in 1919.^1,3

     Hannah CRAMPTON was born circa 1886 in Queen’s Co., Ireland.¹ She married Francis Gilbert POYNTON on 8 January 1919 in Mount Charles Parish Church, Co. Donegal.² She died on 16 January 1975 in St. Luke’s Home, Cork.³ She was buried on 19 January 1975 in St. Luke’s Church, Douglas.³
     
Hannah was enumerated in the 1911 census, aged 24, with her father in Dublin Street, Carlow Town.⁴

     William Edward CRAMPTON was born in 1901 in Kilkenny City.¹ He died in June 1962 in Dublin.²
     
William Edward (Willie) was the younger son. His obituary was published in the Irish Times:
“The Rev. Canon William Edward Crampton, who has died in a Dublin hospital after a long illness, was canon of Kilquane in Clonfert Cathedral from 1950 to 1954. Born in Carlow in 1901, he was educated in Athlone, and later at Trinity College, Dublin, where he won a sizarship and received an exhibition. He received a B.A. degree in 1923, The Higher Diploma of Education in 1928 and an M.A. degree in 1929. After teaching for a time in Midleton College and becoming headmaster of Bandon Grammar School, he took holy orders in 1934. For a year he was curate of New Ross, following which he was appointed curate-in-charge of Cloydah. He held this position for three years, from 1935 to 1938. He became clerical vicar Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, in 1938, as well as assistant master of the Cathedral grammar school. The following year he took up the position of incumbent to Kilconnell Union. He remained there until 1950 when he was appointed Canon of Clonfert Cathedral. He retired in 1954 to live in Killiney. He is survived by his widow, Alice, and one son, E. W. Crampton.”
He was emunerated in the 1911 census, aged 9, living in the household of his sister Rececca Caroline in Portumna, Co. Galway.^3,2,1

     Thomas CRAMPTON was born circa 1898 in Kilkenny City.¹ He died on 16 August 1917.²
     
Thomas Crampton was emunerated in the 1911 census, aged 9, living in the household of his sister Rececca Caroline in Portumna, Co. Galway. He served as a Private in the 9th Battalion of the Royal Irish Fusiliers. He was killed in WWI and his death is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.^1,2

     Rebecca Caroline (Carrie) CRAMPTON was born in 1888 in Kilkenny City.² She married William SHEANE on 17 September 1919 in Holy Trinity Church, Redcross.¹ She died on 18 March 1984 in St. Colmcille’s Hospital, Loughlinstwon.^3,4 She was buried on 20 March 1984 in Glenealy cemetery.^3,4
     
Rebecca Caroline was recorded in the 1911 census, aged 22, as the head of the household in Portumna, Co. Galway. She was described as a National School Teacher, unmarried. She was enumerated with her sister Jessie and brothers Thomas and William Edward.²

     Jessie CRAMPTON was born circa 1894 in Kilkenny City.¹ She died on 10 October 1972 in St. Luke’s Home, Cork.² She was buried on 12 October 1972 in St. Luke’s Church, Cork.²
     
Jessie Crampton was emunerated in the 1911 census, aged 17, living in the household of her sister Rececca Caroline in Portumna, Co. Galway. She was living at 10 Trabeg Lawn, Douglas Road, Cork, in 1972.^1,2

     Henry Meredith CRAMPTON was born in 1896 in Kilkenny City.^2,1 He died on 14 November 1963 in St. Brigid’s Hospital, Carlow.³ He was buried on 16 November 1963 in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Athy.
     
Henry Meredith Crampton was enumerated in the 1911 census, aged 14, with his father in Dublin Street, Carlow Town. He was a managing director of Duthie Large Ltd. and of Doyle Brothers Ltd. According to his obituary in the Irish Times: “He was engaged in business life in Dublin before becoming a partner with Mr. William Cox in the firm of Duthie Large Ltd. in 1936. His ability as a businessman was reflected in the growth of the firm which became one of the largest suppliers of agricultural machinery in south Leinster.“.^1,3,4

     William Edward (’Ted’) NEVILL was born in 1925 in New Ross.² He died on 9 September 2006 in South Infirmary Hospital, Co. Cork.¹ He was buried on 12 September 2006 in Holy Trinity Church, Frankfield.¹
     
William Edward (’Ted’) Nevill was a Professor of Geology at the University of Cork. In 2008 an annual Ted Nevill Lecture Series was established in his memory. At the time of his death in 2006 he was living at Trabeg Lawn, Douglas. His obituary appeared in the Newsletter of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland as follows:
“It is with much sadness that alumni of Geology at UCC will learn of the death of Ted Nevill, one of the father figures of modern Geology at UCC. Ted had been unwell for some time and passed away on 11th September 2006. Ted was born in New Ross in 1925 and was awarded a Foundation Scholarship to Trinity College in 1945 and a senior Moderatorship in 1947. He graduated PhD in 1951, evidently the first PhD in Geology from a University in Ireland. He taught Geology at Trinity until 1959, when he moved to UCC, becoming Statutory Lecturer and Head of a two person Department of Geology. This re-established Geology as a separate discipline at UCC. He published the then standard text “Geology and Ireland” in 1963 and retired in 1986. Dr Ivor MacCarthy was his first PhD student and the first PhD Geology graduate from UCC. Ted remained active in Geology and the Department long after his retirement, residing in office space provided in the gate lodge by the main entrance to campus. Ted was legendary for his encyclopaedic knowledge of natural history and
Irish Geology, his wit and his stories, we will all miss him.”.^2,1,3

     William SHEANE married Rebecca Caroline (Carrie) CRAMPTON, daughter of William CRAMPTON and Elizabeth Anna MEREDITH, on 17 September 1919 in Holy Trinity Church, Redcross.¹ He died on 22 December 1969.² He was buried on 24 December 1969 in Glenealy cemetery.^2,3
     
William was the son of William and Mrs. Sheane, Ballyteskin, Wicklow. He lived at Ballykillavane.^1,2

     Thomas Irvine SHEANE was born in 1923 in Rathdrum Registration District, Ireland. He died on 20 August 1941.¹ He was buried in Glenealy cemetery.¹

     John WILKINSON was born circa 1857 in Queen’s County, Ireland.¹ He married Margaret Susanna MEREDITH, daughter of Thomas MEREDITH and Rebecca STRONG, on 10 July 1890 in Coolbanagher Parish Church, Queen’s County; the witnesses were George Wilkinson and Matilda Wilkinson.^2,3
     
John Wilkinson was the son of Edward Wilkinson, who is believed to be the Edward who married Eliza Meredith and who was living at Ballyadams in 1882. John was a farmer living at Ballyadams at the time of his marriage in 1890. He was recorded in the 1901 census as head of household at Monascreeban, Ballyadams, Queen’s County with his wife Margaret, daughter Elizabeth, son Edward, nephew Thomas Meredith, a nurse domestic servant and 32 farm servants. He was enumerated in the 1911 census at Monascreeban, Ballyadams, Queen’s County, and described as a Farmer, aged 54, Church of Ireland. In the same household were: Margaret Wilkinson (wife, 49), Lizzabeth Wilkinson (daughter 18), Edward Wilkinson (son, 10), Violet Mathers (visitor, 15) and Edward Holahan (servant, 27). He was known as “Happy John” Wilkinson.^3,4,1

     Neville COX married Ruby DEVERELL, daughter of William Robert DEVERELL and Rebecca Maud HUTCHINSON. He died on 8 September 1969.¹

     Ruby DEVERELL married Neville COX, son of Elizabeth Caroline WILKINSON. She died on 11 October 1966 in Raheen, Church road, Athy.¹ She was buried on 13 October 1966 in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Athy.¹

     John Wilson BOYD was born circa 1863 in Co. Kilkenny, Ireland. He married Caroline Helena MEREDITH, daughter of Thomas MEREDITH and Rebecca STRONG, on 27 March 1889 in Armadale, Victoria, Australia. He died on 9 March 1949 in Coburg, Victoria, Australia.

     Annie Esther Elizabeth BOYD was born on 12 March 1890 in Ararat, Victoria, Australia. She married Frank MORRIS. She died on 31 July 1974 in Highett, Victoria, Australia, at age 84.

     Thomas Meredith BOYD was born on 17 April 1891.

     Caroline Manonia BOYD was born on 1 April 1893.
