Merediths listed in Alumni Dublinenses ( people–no women- who attended Trinity College, Dublin)

Key: First name (surname if an alternate spelling); Status; Date of entry to TCD, Age at entry; Father’s name, occupation; Place of birth; Degrees awarded and dates. [any additional information provided]

Status: P = Pensioner, which meant they were fee paying; SC = had lots of money and paid higher fees in return for certain privileges, including being able to graduate in 3 years, rather than 4; Siz = subsidized and had to work for their education

Father’s “professions” key:

Agricola – Farmer                  Colonus - Farmer                   Mercator - Merchant

Armiger – Esquire                   Clericus – Clergyman             Chirugus - Surgeon

Equus – Knight                       Medicus – Physician               Pharmocopola - Druggist

Generosus – Gentleman         Pragmaticus – Solicitor

Defunctus – this term is not defined; my guess is it meant deceased?

Note–some fields incomplete for some students; also, although my source listed the records alphabetically, I have arranged them chronologically–hopefully to facilitate making connections. Also, there is a proviso that being born in Dublin didn’t necessarily mean that the family was from Dublin, as these aristocratic families often came to Dublin to have their children because of the superior medical care available there.

Information in square brackets below was in the source, but was information that had been added by the authors to supplement the records from Trinity.
