John Jervis Jervis-White-Jervis, 1st Bart., was the eldest son. He graduated at Dublin University and became a barrister-at-law and LL.D. His baronetcy was created 6 Dec 1797, probably a reward for having in the previous year raised a corps of volunteers, equipped at his own expense. He again raised and equipped a corps in Somerset in 1803. On 6 Nov 1793 he assumed by Royal Licence the suffix name of Jervis. In 181 he was living at Garboldisham Hall, Norfolk, England.5,6,7
