Sir John Henry Jervis-White-Jervis, 4th Bart., entered the Army in 1877, was promoted lieutenant-colonel in 1902 and colonel in 1918. He served in the Zulu War of 1879 and the South Africa War. He retired in 1903 but rejoined in 1914 and served during the Great War.²
